About us

About us

Turning compassion into action for local seniors, creating meaningful moments, and building a community where every senior is seen, valued, and remembered—because every wish has the power to restore hope and connection.

Community-Centered

Help us make a difference in the lives of seniors.

Silver Wishes Inc. was created to let seniors living in Placer County, Orangevale, Fair
Oaks, Carmichael and Citrus Heights know they matter and have a purpose. By
granting wishes, we want them to experience hope and let them know they are
valued. Wishes may be something simple to help overcome a challenge or help
regain their independence. A wish may be bringing family together that has been
separated. Or joy may come in the form of granting the opportunity to experience a
bucket list item. Silver Wishes needs your help to make these wishes a reality. In
return, we hope our volunteers, donors and community will also experience the joy
you receive from being a part of this mission. Together we can make a difference.

Our mission

Impacting the lives of seniors one wish at a time.

Our vision

Each day as a person wakes up, they have a purpose. As people age, their social circles get smaller. They become more isolated. Physically, their bodies don’t function as well, which can lead to depression and hopelessness. Some start to look forward to the day when they don’t wake up anymore. Silver Wishes believes everyone deserves to have hope. According to the National Library of Medicine, hope is an essential human need in the elderly. Hope is essential for the adaptation to illness and to transcend the limitations of aging. Hope generates energy that enables individuals to cope with numerous problems and losses, overcome obstacles in life, and continue functioning during chronic illness. Having a dream to look forward to and to experience, can lift spirits and put a spin on one’s life, turning negatives into positives.

5 Reasons Wishes Makes a Difference:

  1. Wishes give a burst of joy.
  2. Wishes help seniors overcome loneliness and despair.
  3. Wishes give hope by changing a senior’s outlook on life.
  4. Wishes may increase mobility and independence.
  5. Wishes make a forgotten population feel known and valued.
